Lollipop Loves Mr Mole comes to DVD

Written by Dad’s Army co-creator Jimmy Perry, this popular ATV sitcom starring Hugh Lloyd and Peggy Mount is to be finally released on DVD.

Lollipop and Mr. Mole, alias Maggie and Reg Robinson live in their cosy cottage in Fulham. Reg who is quiet and timid is constantly in need of protection from the world while the iron-willed Maggie knows that generosity can sometimes cause more problems than it solves.

The heart-warming comedy-drama written by Jimmy Perry of Dad’s Army fame brings together Hugh Lloyd, best known for roles in Hancock’s Half Hour and Foyle’s War, and Peggy Mount, of The Larkins and You’re Only Young Twice fame, in a blissful romantic union that proves when it comes to love – opposites attract.

Two series were produced by ATV Network between 1971 and 1972 and unfortunately, all but two episodes, the first and last from the second series, were junked shortly after their ITV broadcasts. This release contains these remaining episodes newly transferred from the only existing black and white film telerecordings which were made for export sales.

As well as the two 25-minute episodes the disc also contains an image gallery and also scripts from a couple of the missing episodes as well as press promotion material for the first series.

Network DVD presents the two remaining episodes of Lollipop Loves Mr Mole from 25th July 2011 RRP £8.99 and will be on sale exclusively from the Network website.
