Celebrities join NOH8 marriage equality campaign

Jane Lynch{jcomments off}Celebrities such as Larry King, Jane Lynch, Martin Sheen and Rufus Wainwright are supporting the NOH8 campaign in America for marriage equality.

A new campaign showing celebrities with duct-tape across their mouth and NOH8 written on their cheek is underway. The NOH8 is the name of the campaign against Proposition 8 in California. Proposition 8 banned gay marriages in the American state shortly after it was legalised for a short-time. A number of high profile people are involved in the campaign such as George Takei, Jane Lynch, Larry King, Ellen DeGeneres, Cindy McCain, Ashlee Simpson and Lance Bass.

New York recently voted to legalise gay marriage a bill which George Takei described as a major victory for human rights. It’s hoped other states in America will follow suit but some have already indicated they will not; some will introduce Civil Unions instead while others may move towards banning gay marriage outright.
