Denis O’Hare played the ancient vampire Russell Edgington, Vampire King of Mississippi, in the third season of True Blood – he was the ‘big bad’. Russell Edgington caused all kinds of trouble for several residents of Bon Temp – his werewolves were trying to track down Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), he kidnapped Bill (Stephen Moyer) and his henchman Franklin (James Frain) kidnapped and tormented Tara (Rutina Wesley). Meanwhile Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) discovered Russell was responsible for the murder of his family hundreds of years before and got his revenge by murdering his lover, Talbot (Theo Alexander). The death of Talbot sent Russell over the edge and he was last seen being buried in concrete by Bill and Eric.
It was recently teased that Russell would be returning to True Blood for its fifth season.
