Sarah Michelle Gellar to guest on All My Children

Sarah Michelle Gellar{jcomments on}Sarah Michelle Gellar is to guest star on the ABC soap All My Children ahead of its finale in September but the actress will not be reprising her role of Kendall.

The actress played the role of Kendall Hart, the long-lost daughter of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), between 1993 and 1995. Since 2002 the role has been played by Alicia Minshew. Yesterday it was announced that Sarah Michelle Gellar would be returning to All My Children in the show’s final weeks for a guest star role.

“I can today officially confirm that I will be doing a guest spot on All My Children. When I heard that the show was cancelled, I didn’t understand. Like, ‘forget it, it just doesn’t make sense to me.’ And I called Judy Blye Wilson, who is the casting director and has been since I was there, and I said, ‘I want to do something.’ And I was very specific — I don’t want to be Kendall. That’s Alicia’s role, but I just wanted to be a part of it. I have no idea what I’m going to be doing. So we can take suggestions, but I will be doing one day. Yeah, I’m excited.” – Sarah Michelle Gellar quoted on Entertainment Weekly

The actress has previously spoke out against the cancellation of the ABC soap which will come off air in September and re-launch online sometime after. Sarah Michelle Gellar’s next big role is in The CW drama Ringer which was originally pitched to CBS. The actress isn’t the only returnee lined up for AMC before its big finale with Julia Barr, David Canary, Ray MacDonald, Lee Meriwether, Carol Burnett, Melissa Claire Egan, Kate Collins, Jennifer Bassey, Josh Duhamel, Eva LaRue, Alexa Havins and Justin Bruening all returning too.
