Sherlock filming halted due to London riots
Filming on BBC One drama Sherlock was reportedly halted due to the riots in London.
Filming on the second series of the modern-day version of Sherlock Holmes is currently taking place – with filming taking place in the capital. Writer Mark Gatiss took to Twitter to report that filming had been halted as riots gripped the city; “This is a new one on me. Scene incomplete owing to approaching looters. Unbelievable times.” Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch were thought to be present at the time when filming had to be abandoned.
The rioting, looting and arson that errupted across the capital over three night has now spread to other UK cities such as Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham, Bristol, Manchester and Salford.
