New prequel for second half of Doctor Who

Doctor Who{jcomments on}The BBC are to release a special prequel for the second half of this year’s series of Doctor Who.

The prequel will bridge the gap between the episodes A Good Man Goes to War and Let’s Kill Hitler – the first episode of the second half of the season. The prequel has been written by Steven Moffat and will feature Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) coming to terms with the events of A Good Man Goes to War and the revelation that River Song (Alex Kingston) is their daughter.

The prequel will be available exclusively on the official website for Doctor Who from the BBC from next Monday. As yet the BBC has not announced the UK return date for the series but in Australia it will return on September 3rd according to TV Tonight. In America the series will return to BBC America on Saturday 27th August. It is expected, but can not necessarily be confirmed, that Doctor Who will return to BBC One ahead of its broadcast elsewhere in the world. As yet though advanced schedules for the rest of August for BBC One do not feature Doctor Who – but schedules can change up to ten days before transmission.
