Celebrity Big Brother returned to our screens this evening with new batch of housemates ready to grace our screens for the next three weeks.

First to enter the house was Kerry Katona. The former Atomic Kitten star who has publicly battled drink and drug issues is no stranger to reality TV having won I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004 and staring on Dancing On Ice. She was joined by American Pie actress Tara Reid, who found it hard to understand Kerry’s nothern accent.

The celebrities then kept on rolling in; Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty, The Only Was Is Essex leading lady Amy Childs, Mr Paparazzi Darryn Lyons, Speaker’s wife Sally Bercow, David Hasselhoff’s ex wife Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff, former Corrie star Lucien Laviscount and  model Bobby Sabel.

The final housemates to go in were John and Edward, also known as Jedward. They had rumoured for weeks and were confirmed by X Factor judge Louis Walsh yesterday. They entered the house dressed in tiger styled waistcoat-costume.

Once all the housemates were in, Big Brother well and truly began by calling one housemate to the Diary Room. Kerry went and was told that she has to become the ‘biggest diva’ in the house. She has to through a tantrum, and that housemates tomorrow must choose her tomorrow as the biggest diva or she will be punished.

Tonight is one of the biggest nights for Channel 5 in its history. The launch of Celebrity Big Brother is a risk which new boss Richard Desmond will be hoping pays off. Fans of the show will be able to keep up to date with the latest news via Big Brother official Facebook and Twitter pages.

Check back tomorrow to find out how well the launch show did as the overnight ratings come in.
