Game of Thrones to film in Croatia

Game of ThronesThe second season of HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones will see filming take place in Croatia and Iceland.

The first season of the drama, based on the novel series, was predominantly filmed in Northern Ireland with filming also taking place in Malta. Will the second series will see filming expand to other European countries as the Iceland and Croatia – both different ends of Europe – will stand in for different places in the fantasy world reports Entertainment Weekly. Croatia will stand in for the “southern” scenes while Iceland will; be used for scenes “beyond the wall” according to EW.

The second season of Game of Thrones is also set to expand its cast even further with Oona Chaplin, Hannah Murray, Natalie Dormer, Roy Dotrice, Gemma Whelan and Stephen Dillane all amongst the new castings.
