Susan Lucci not joining Desperate Housewives

{jcomments on}ABC has denied once more that actress Susan Lucci is to join the cast of Desperate Housewives.

Its a rumour that just won’t go away; for the past few months various media reports have claimed that All My Children actress Susan Lucci will join the cast of prime-time drama Desperate Housewives. The reports first emerged when ABC announced the cancellation of All My Children with rumours the actress would swap Pine Valley for Wisteria Lane but the stories have been denied by ABC continually. ABC has once again denied the rumours stating there’s “no truth” in the stories.

As for Lucci’s future on All My Children, when it ends its television run in September and re-launches online at an unspecified date, it emerged over the weekend new producers Prospect Park had offered the actress a new contract which was stated as being “more or less” the same deal she currently has. Lucci is said to be considering the offer by Prospect Park but could there really be AMC without diva Erica Kane?
