The Glee Project likely to be renewed

{jcomments on}The Glee Project is likely to be renewed for a second series by Oxygen.

Entertainment Weekly report that Oxygen are already putting together plans to start casting for a second season of The Glee Project. The first season of the talent contest – with the prize a stint in Glee itself – being a hit for Oxygen its not surprising it is keen to start work on a second year. Ratings for The Glee Project rose throughout its run which is good news for any broadcaster and its finale topped 1 million viewers according to EW.

In the end four finalists won roles in the third season of Glee instead of the intended one. Auditions for the second series of The Glee Project are likely to begin in the Autumn according to EW with five sessions being held around the country. However, one problem facing producers is the prize – as yet Glee has not been renewed for a fourth season. So technically the prize can’t be a role in the main series until it is officially commissioned by Fox but that isn’t necessarily a problem because few expect the broadcaster to do anything but renew Glee.
