Actor Noel Collins has died

Actor best known for his roles in BBC dramas passed away earlier this month.


The actor Noel Collins, best known for his role in BBC drama Juliet Bravo, has died at the age of 74.
Collins played Sergeant George Parrish in all six seasons of Juliet Bravo; the BBC cop-drama that ran between 1980 and 1985. The drama was one of the first cop shows to have a female detective as the central character (Stephanie Turner, later Anna Carteret). Up until 1980 the majority of cop/detective dramas features men in the lead roles.
Collins other notable roles included a 1989 appearance in Doctor Who in the story Battlefield opposite Sylvester McCoy and other guest-stars such as Jean Marsh and Angela Bruce. Collins also appeared in Bread, Play for Today, Within these Walls, Pennies from Heaven and When the Boat Comes In.
Noel Collins passed away on 15th August following a cancer diagnosis.
