The Hour ends with over 1 million viewers

Dominic WestBBC Two’s 1950s based drama The Hour ended its six-part run last night with over 1.5 million viewers.

The drama, created by Abi Morgan, was set in a 1950s newsroom during the Suez Canal crisis and the uprisings in Hungary. The storylines revolved around the journalists attempts to cover the full facts of the Suez Canal crisis despite attempts by the government to prevent them. A secondary storyline involving a conspiracy at the heart of the establishment also featured within The Hour. The drama launched impressively for BBC Two in July with 3 million viewers but met with mixed reviews and subsequent episodes saw ratings fall. Last night’s concluding episode had 1.8 million viewers.
