Shameless return draws less than 2 million viewers
The return to Shameless on Tuesday evening to Channel 4 had less than 2 million viewers.
The veteran drama returned to Channel 4 for the remainder of its 8th season – it took a break after the first 13 episodes in March.
The return of Shameless to the broadcaster had 1.8 million viewers but if figures from the time-shift channel are added the episode pushes above 2 million to 2.1 million. That means it was only just behind Celebrity Big Brother on Channel Five which had 2.2 million viewers at 10pm – giving the broadcaster its best ratings of the evening.
Elsewhere last night at 8pm on BBC One medical drama Holby City had 5.3 million viewers followed by 4.7 million at 9pm for Harry’s Artic Heroes.
The concluding part of Unforgiven, repeated by ITV, had just 1.6 million viewers at 9pm for ITV1. The broadcaster suffered on Monday evening in the 9pm with a repeat of Poirot similarly falling to attract big ratings.
