Channel Four drop Ortis Deley from Athletics coverage

{jcomments off}Channel Four has dropped Ortis Deley as its main presenter on the its coverage of the world athletics championships.

Deley, a former presenter on Channel Five’s Gadget Show, has struggled in his presenting role for Channel Four. Critics have been quick to dish their opinions while viewers have also complained to the broadcaster. E4’s Rick Edwards will be the main presenter for Channel Four’s coverage now but a spokesperson for the broadcaster seemed to indelicate that Deley would still be on the presenting team.

It is something of an embarrassment for Channel Four as it promised an “innovative approach to live sport” as it gears up for the Olympics next year. Channel Four is keen to expand its live sports coverage but the fact it has received hundred of complaints about the world athletics championships coverage means the broadcaster will have to work harder to get its approach right.
