New Tricks commissioned for two more series

BBC One’s New Tricks has been commissioned for two more series which will take it through to 2013.

The hit series centres around a group of ex-detectives brought out of retirement to work on unsolved and open cases. The current run of New Tricks has attracted a healthy audience on Monday nights, attracting upwards of 8 million viewers and managing to peak at 9.7 million viewers.
 

Ben Stephenson, Controller, BBC Drama Commissioning, says: “New Tricks continues to grow and is a huge favourite with the audience making it the highest rating drama on TV so far this year. New Tricks is made by Wall to Wall productions for the BBC and filming for the new series will begin later this year.
