Doctor Who – The Girl Who Waited ratings

Karen GillanRatings for the latest episode of Doctor Who reveal more than 6 million viewers tuned in meaning the BBC sci-fi series once again beat competitors Ant and Dec with their brand new ITV game-show.

The Girl Who Waited, a different kind of Doctor Who story, pulled in 6.1 million viewers for BBC One at 7.15pm. The ratings are up on last weeks episode Night Terrors which met with mixed reviews from viewers and critics alike. The Girl Who Waited was comfortably ahead of Ant and Dec’s new game-show Red or Black on ITV1 which had 4.6 million viewers – having struggled to attract the kind of ratings ITV were expecting and having met with some negative publicity. It isn’t the first time that Doctor Who has had the better of the Geordie duo and one of their game-shows; the BBC sci-fi series routinely beat Saturday Night Takeway when the two clashed.
