Big Brother: Nominations Announced

Big Brother has announced the nomination results as ratings continue to slide

The housemates were told yesterday evening that Aaron, Harry and Tashie will face the public vote this week. The housemate who receives the lowest amount of votes will be evicted from the house on Friday in the first eviction of the series. Upon hearing the news, Tashie appeared to be taken aback by the announcement, later being consoled by her fellow housemates. Traditionally, a girl is always the first to leave Big Brother. Although with this year being a vote to save – it may work in her favour.

In the latest highlights show we finally got to see Pamela Anderson’s suite, where she has been staying since Friday. Yesterday’s show pulled in 1.37 million viewers, slightly down from Monday. Channel 5 will be hoping that ratings stabilise as the weeks go on. In previous years, Big Brother always aired in the Summer period – generally a quite period in television.

The first eviction also marks a first in UK television as the public can now vote to save via Facebook credits. Channel 5 opted to use Facebook and Twitter to update fans with the latest from the house. Fans have however continued to leave angry messages on their pages at the decision not to have a live feed.
