Ken Kercheval returning to Dallas

Ken Kercheval will return to TNT’s revived Dallas for a multi-episode stint as Cliff Barnes.

J.R’S (Larry Hagman) old nemesis Cliff Barnes will be back in Dallas when it returns next year, reports TV Guide. Although the actor will be absent from the pilot episode he will feature in a string of episodes of the series that will follow. The news will delight fans of the Oil based soap who were hoping more original series stars would crop up in the revival. With Cliff Barnes returning its likely the old Barnes/Ewing feud will also be revived. Bitterest of enemies, Cliff and J.R were often scheming against each other and fighting for the affection of Sue Ellen (Linda Gray).

Ken Kercheval and Larry Hagman were the only two actors to appear in all seasons of Dallas although when the series first started Kercheval was on a recurring basis but was quickly promoted to the regular cast. The actor’s return to Dallas follows the signing up of Hagman, Grey and Patrick Duffy in regular roles while Charlene Tilton and Steve Kanaly will reprise their respective roles in the pilot.
