Torchwood bows out with nearly 4 million viewers

Mekhi PhiferThe fourth series of Torchwood ended on BBC One last night with just under 4 million viewers.

The rollercoaster ride which has been Torchwood: Miracle Day ended last night with the final episode, The Blood Line. Reaction to the fourth season has been decidedly mixed as has the reaction to the finale itself. At 9pm on BBC One the final pulled in 3.9 million viewers but was beaten – by a long way – by Billy Connolly’s Route 66 (see here). The figure is substantially lower than the 6.5 million viewers who watched the opening episode in July however, it is just an overnight figure and the final figure will see it rise.
