Simon Cowell rules out Cheryl Cole return

Simon Cowell has ruled out Cheryl Cole returning to The X Factor

According to ‘insiders’ talking to The Sunday Mirror, it is said that the current judges are doing a good job. The insider said: “Simon thinks all the judges have done an absolutely amazing job this year. He loves Kelly and Tulisa and there is zero chance of either of them losing their place next year.” Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos replaced Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue who left earlier this year.

Cheryl Cole quit the British version to try and make it on the American version, which launches next week. She was dropped from the show just one week into the auditions. It is alleged that she failed to sign a contract in time to return for the British version, which prompted producers announce that Tulisa would be her replacement.  The insider went on to say: “He gets annoyed if anyone suggests Kelly Rowland or Tulisa may have to make way for her to return. That is categorically not going to happen.”

The final weekend of auditions kicked off last night. Yesterday’s episode attracted 11.1 million viewers (including +1). It featured John Wilding, who came back with a new look after being rejected at the judges’ houses stage last year. He impressed the new judging line-up and made it through to boot camp stage which airs next weekend. The X Factor continues tonight at 8.00pm on ITV 1.
