Jeff Conway absent from Emmy's 'In Memoriam'
Actor Jeff Conway was amongst those absents from the Emmy’s ‘In Memoriam’ segment which remembers those who have passed away over the last year.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the actor was amongst those notable absent from this year’s segment. Conway passed away in May due to complications from pneumonia – he was just 60. The actor had appeared in films such as Taxi and Grease and had also worked extensively on television as well. He played Zach Allen in the critically acclaimed science fiction series Babylon 5 originally appearing in a guest star capacity before being added to the regular cast. In the late 1980s he appeared in CBS daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful as Mick Savage.
Other actors absent from the ‘In Memoriam’ included Len Lesser and Clarice Taylor. Entertainment Weekly reports that Emmy responded to the absent of some actors by stating Unfortunately, due to inevitable time limitations, the producers of the telecast are not able to include all of the worthy television professionals who have passed away from year to year. Therefore, in an effort to pay tribute to as many people as possible, the Television Academy created an In Memoriam database on its website, Emmys.tv.”
