Glee season three premier ratings down on last year

{jcomments off}Ratings for the season three premier of Glee were down considerably on last year.

Could it be a sign that the sparkle has faded from Fox’s smash-hit musical series? It is far too early to right off Glee after just one episode of its third season – but some may be asking if the bubble has burst for the comedy. Anyway the season three premier, The Purple Piano Project, attracted 8.9 million viewers with a 3.8 18-49 demo. So how does that compare with last year’s season two premier? Well the season two premier, Audition, had 12.4 million viewers so a couple of million viewers difference but its early, very early, days for season three. Fox can take comfort though from the launch of New Girl which had an impressive 10.1 million viewers and an even more impressive 4.7 adults 18-49 rating.
