Harry Derbidge to quit The Only Way Is Essex?

The Only Way Is EssexThe Only Way Is Essex’s Harry Derbidge has admitted he would consider quitting the ITV2 reality series to launch his own solo show.

Could The Only Way Is Essex be about to lose another ‘star’? Amy Childs has already quit the hit ITV2 series – deciding instead to pursue other opportunities such as Celebrity Big Brother and her own solo series. Now Harry Derbidge has said he would also quit the series to launch his own series.

“I want a reality TV show called What Harry Did Next…Going solo from The Only Way Is Essex is definitely something I’d consider….I miss Amy on the show. We are besties. I think it could really affect the new series because people love her and her personality. Most of the people watched the first series of The Only Way Is Essex to see Amy.” –

It was revealed earlier this week that Derbidge had handed a role in a Peter Pan pantomime opposite Steven McFadden of EastEnders. Scripted reality shows such as The Only Way is Essex have proved popular with audiences with MTV launching Geordie Shore and E4 launching Made in Chelsea. There’s long been rumours of similarly themed shows set in Liverpool and other cities being launched.
