Glee's ratings drop from season premier

GleeGlee‘s second episode, of its third season, saw its ratings drop somewhat from last week’s season opener.

Glee didn’t exactly have a brilliant season opener last week for its third season as 8.9 million viewers compared with 12.4 million for the season two premier last year. Glee‘s ratings for its second episode saw ratings slide somewhat as 8.3 million viewers, that’s 3.6 18-49 rating, tuned in. Some people are already talking about brand fatigue being behind Glee‘s muted ratings but can the musical drama series recover – it would be far too early to write it off completely.

To be fair to Glee it was up against ratings juggernaut NCIS on CBS at the same time which had 19.2 million viewers. Following Glee on Fox was New Girl which continued to be popular with viewers as 9.3 million viewers tuned in with a 4.4 18-49 rating. Also on Tuesday night ABC’s Body of Proof, starring Dana Delany, pulled in 9.4 million viewers. The CW’s 90210 had 1.7 million viewers followed by Ringer, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ioan Gruffudd, had 2 million viewers which is up ever so slightly on last week.
