The Vampire Diaries UK return date revealed
The third season of The Vampire Diaries will kick-off on ITV2 in October.
The highly anticipated third season of The Vampire Diaries will premier on ITV2 on Tuesday 11th October, new scheduling information from ITV has revealed. The third season premiered on The CW in America on the 15th September – meaning UK fans will only be several weeks behind their American counterparts.
The third season of The Vampire Diaries see’s Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) searching for Stefan (Paul Wesley) who left Mystic Falls at the end of the third season with original vampire Klaus (Joseph Morgan). The curse put upon Klaus – preventing the werewolf side of him manifesting itself – has been lifted and he was free to sire a new race of vampire/werewolf hybrids. Elena’s brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) meanwhile is visited by the ghosts of his dead girlfriends Vicki (Kayla Ewell) and Anna (Malese Jow) both of whom were vampires. The third season of The Vampire Diaries will continue to tell the complicated lives and loves of the residents of Mystic Falls be they human or supernatural.
The Vampire Diaries returns to ITV2 on Tuesday October 11th with the third season premier, The Birthday at 9pm
