Amy Childs lands her own Channel Five series
Amy Childs, formerly of The Only Way is Essex, is to get her own Channel Five reality television series.
The fly-on-the-wall series will be titled All About Amy and will follow her as she prepares to open her own salon. The series will also feature her brother and her parents. The series comes after her appearance in Celebrity Big Brother last month. Childs was one of the ‘Celebrity’ housemates along with Kerry Katona, Edward and John Grimes aka Jedward and Lucien Laviscount amongst others. She quit The Only Way is Essex to appear in Celebrity Big Brother. Childs also has her own column in New magazine which is owned by Richard Desmond who also owns Channel Five.
It’s All About Amy will launch in December of this year for eight episodes and Channel Five will be hoping it’ll take off with viewers. The Only Way is Essex’s Harry Derbidge recently revealed he would be prepared to quit the ITV2 series for his own spin-off series while various tabloid newspapers have claimed that Mark Wright will join EastEnders for a short stint – something the soap has denied. When it was revealed that Kerry Katona’s ITV2 series, The Next Chapter, had been axed she joked that Channel Five should pick it up.
