Showtime and Michael C Hall at ‘impasse’ over new Dexter contract

Michael C. HallDeadline reports that talks between Dexter star Michael C. Hall and Showtime over a seventh season of the serial killer drama are at an ‘impasse’.

Dexter returned on Sunday with its sixth season premier which drew 2.2 million viewers making it the highest rated season opener for the serial killer drama and the best Showtime season opener in 14 years!  With the sixth season launching so well its hardly surprising that a seventh season should be on the cards but Deadline reports that talks between actor Michael C. Hall and Showtime are at an “impasse” and have broken down.

Deadline reports that Showtime has offered the actor $20 million for two further seasons of Dexter but the actor, according to the site, is after $24 million for the next two seasons. At the present time talks have broken down but Showtime bosses are hopeful of reaching a deal and given Dexter’s continued strong performance its unlikely they’ll give up easily.
