Charlie's Angels ratings continue to fall

Charlie's AngelsRatings for ABC’s revived and rebooted Charlie’s Angels continued to drop on Thursday evening while The CW’s supernatural dramas The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle also saw drops in ratings.

Charlie’s Angels is heading very quickly towards cancellation if its ratings continue to fall. It seems a new generation of television viewers have failed to fall in love with the revival of the iconic 1970s series that made household names of its stars – and put female detectives at the forefront of the drama. ABC’s new series stars Annie IIonzeh, Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor as the three angels who work for the reclusive millionaire Charlie’s Townsend aka actor Victor Garber but ratings have been falling since its premier. According to overnight figures 5.9 million viewers, a 1.2 18-49 rating, tuned in for the latest episode. How long before the axe man cometh for Charlie and his angels?

NBC’s remake of Prime Suspect held steady on last week’s ratings but its figures still aren’t fantastic and it took must be placed on the ‘at risk’ list – 4.9 million viewers tuned in with a 1.5 18-49 demo. Over on Fox and The X Factor continued to pull in steady ratings but Simon Cowell’s show has yet to reach anything like the highs of American Idol. The latest episode of the X Factor had 11.2 million viewers with a 3.8 18-49 rating.

And over on The CW supernatural dramas The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle both were down on last week. The Vampire Diaries had 2.6 million viewers (1.2 18-49 rating) while ‘companion series’ The Secret Circle had 2 million viewers with a 0.8 18-49 demo.
