Jedward heading to the Disney Channel?

JedwardReports claim that X Factor duo Jedward are being lined up for a new show on the Disney Channel in America.

The Irish Daily Mirror claims that Edward and John Grimes, aka Jedward, have been approached by Disney bosses in America who believe the twins will be a big hit with their audiences. The tabloid newspaper reports that Jedward’s manager, Louis Walsh, will met with Disney reps in New York to discuss the twins launching their own show on the Disney Channel.

“Jedward are on the verge of cracking America with their own show. TV bosses and producers over there love their style and are convinced they can win over an army of young fans. Louis has met with representatives in New York and the talks went really well. There are a few concepts on the table for different styles of shows. But at the minute all the precise details are being kept very hush hush. What we do know is that it’s going to be a prime time national kids show so it would be a dream ticket for the boys to realise their dream of cracking the States.” – A “source” quoted in the Irish Daily Mail

Jedward shot to fame during the 2009 edition of the X Factor in which they sparked controversy by making it to the live editions and surviving elimination from the contest when Lucie Jones was booted off. Following their stint on the X Factor the duo landed their own ITV2 series Jedward: Let Loose. The two represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year with the song Lipstick – they were early favourites to win the competition but came 8th ahead of British boyband Blue.

More recently the twins appeared on Celebrity Big Brother where, once again, they were favourites to win but lost out to Paddy Doherty of Channel Four’s My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. The two came third in the Channel Five series with Kerry Katona beating them to be runner-up.
