11 million viewers watch latest act booted off the X Factor
Over 11 million viewers watched Nu Vibe become the latest act to be kicked off the X Factor while Strictly Come Dancing edged closer to 10 million viewers and Downton Abbey continued its strong performance for ITV1.
Tulisa Contostavlos lost another act last night as group Nu Vibe were booted off the X Factor after coming in the bottom two with Frankie Cocozza. According to overnight figures the X Factor results show was seen by an average of 11.3 million viewers with a peak of 12.2 million viewers for the final 15 minutes. At 9pm, following the X Factor, the latest episode of period drama Downton Abbey continued its strong performance. The fifth episode of the Julian Fellowes drama had 8.9 million viewers while a further 280,000 viewers on the time-shift channel giving a combined audience of 9.1 million viewers. Following Downton Abbey was That Sunday Night Show, fronted by Daybreak’s Adrian Chiles, which had 1.9 million viewers.
Spy drama Spooks had 4.4 million viewers at 9pm against Downton as the period drama continued to outgun it. The Strictly Come Dancing results show at 7.30 edged closer to 10 million viewers as 9.5 million tuned in. Dan Lobb became the second celebrity to be booted off following former politician Edwina Currie who was the first to leave the new series last week. The Antiques Roadshow, at 8pm, had an impressive 6.3 million viewers against the X Factor while earlier in the evening rural magazine programme Countryfile had 6.8 million viewers.
Elsewhere last night ITV2 reality soap The Only Way is Essex had 1 million viewers while The Xtra Factor had just under 1 million viewers. Over on Channel Five Big Brother had 1.1 million viewers giving the broadcaster its best ratings of Sunday evening.
