X Factor performs well for Fox

X FactorThe X Factor was the most watched show by viewers aged between 18-49 last night according to overnight figures but NCIS and spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles had more viewers overall.

{jcomments off}The X Factor had the biggest 18-49 audience last night according to overnight figures. At 8pm the new Simon Cowell talent competition had 9.9 million viewers overall with a 3.5 18-49 rating but at 9pm its figures rose to a 4.0 rating and 10 million viewers over all. However, that’s still a fair way off the 20 million that Cowell said he was hoping for when the X Factor launched and it still hasn’t reached the heights of American Idol. The series does perform solidly though for Fox and generates a lot of press interest. At 8pm in terms of total viewers CBS’ NCIS was the winner with 19 million viewers while ABC’s Last Man Standing had 10 million viewers, a 3.0 18-49 rating, and NBC’s The Biggest Loser had 5 million viewers. Teen drama 90210 brought in 1.4 million viewers for The CW with 0.7 18-49 rating.

At 9pm NCIS: Los Angeles had 15 million viewers, a 3.3 18-49 rating. The Dancing with the Stars results show delivered 13 million viewers to ABC with a 2.6 18-49 rating while over on The CW Ringer, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, held steady on last week’s figures with 1.7 million viewers overall and a 0.8 rating. At 10pm Dana Delany drama Body of Proof was seen by 9.5 million viewers on ABC with a 1.9 18-49 rating.
