Vacation, Vacation, Vacation axed by Channel Four

Channel FOURVacation, Vacation, Vacation has been axed by Channel Four after just one series.

The series was presented by Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer who tried out a mixture of luxury and budget holidays. Vacation, Vacation, Vacation launched moderately well with over 2 million viewers but ratings quickly dropped across its eight-part run, which started in March. Channel Four has decided not to order a further season because of its poor ratings performance.

“Vacation, Vacation, Vacation didn’t resonate with viewers as well as we’d hoped and we have no plans to bring it back. Kirstie and Phil are currently working on several big Channel 4 series including Kirstie’s Handmade Britain, Phil Spencer: Secret Agent, and a new series of Location, Location, Location.” – A Channel Four spokesperson speaking to The Guardian

The presenting duo have proved popular with Channel Four audiences though it was revealed last month that another of their shows has also be cancelled. Relocation, Relocation, Relocation (a spin-off from Location, Location, Location) has been ‘shelved’ by Channel Four because of the recession. The series followed people as they looked for a second home or to start up a new business.
