Merlin: Aithusa Ratings

Ratings for Aithusa, last night’s episode of fantasy drama Merlin. Also includes ratings for the X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing as the gap between the two narrowed further.

The fourth episode of the new series of Merlin continued to perform well for BBC One last night. Aithusa, guest starring Battlestar Galactica and Eureka actor James Callis, had a solid 5.5 million viewers. While it is down slightly on last week’s episode, The Wicked Day, the figure is still a good one considering the series airs opposite the X Factor – Merlin was the third most watched programme of Saturday.

Meanwhile the ratings gap between the X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing narrowed last night. The latest edition of the ITV talent contest, which has been plagued in recent weeks by negative publicity, had an average of 9.7 million viewers. Meanwhile BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing wasn’t far behind with 9.4 million viewers.
