Spooks ends with over 5 million viewers
The final ever episode of spy drama Spooks aired on BBC One last night and was seen by over 5 million viewers.
Last night’s final episode of Spooks was seen by 5.1 million viewers. The figure is the best overnight performance for the final series of the spy drama which has suffered at the hands of ITV ratings titan Downton Abbey. The BBC’s decision to air the final series opposite the hugely popular ITV period drama has prompted criticism from the press and fans though the BBC stuck by its decision arguing the two dramas attract different audiences. However, it has to be pointed that that while Spooks ratings were dwarfed by Downton‘s they do rise somewhat through consolidated figures – which take into account those who record and watch within seven days.
