Strong start for Once Upon A Time

ABCABC’s new fantasy drama Once Upon A Time launched to nearly 13 million viewers according to early ratings data.

The much hyped fairy tale drama premiered on ABC last night at 8pm with the best new series launch of this year – some say of the past two years. Once Upon A Time had 12.7 million viewers with a 3.9 18-49 rating. The strong performance of the fantasy drama helped boost Desperate Housewives which followed it at 9pm. The soapy drama had 9.2 million viewers with a 3.0 18-49 rating – on last weeks 8.2 million viewers overall and a 2.7 18-49 rating. However, 1960s based drama Pan Am still continued to lose viewers at 10pm with 5.7 million viewers overall although in terms of viewers aged between 18-49 it held steady at 1.8 million viewers.

Elsewhere last night, drama wise, at CBS’s The Good Wife at 9pm had 9.6 million viewers and a 2.0 18-49 rating while CSI Miami at 10pm had 9.7 million viewers and a 2.1 18-49 rating.
