Monday: CBS comedies continue to deliver big ratings
{jcomments off}Comedies How I Met Your Mother and Two Broke Girls continued to deliver big ratings to CBS last night.
At 8pm comedy How I Met Your Mother on CBS had 9.8 million viewers with a 4.3 18-49 rating. Although the comedy didn’t win the hour in terms of total viewers it did win the first half in terms of viewers aged between 18-49 but overall the hour was won by fellow CBS comedy Two Broke Girls which had a 4.6 rating. In terms of total viewers the comedy had 11.4 million viewers – increasing its lead-in from How I Met Your Mother. ABC’s Dancing with the Stars won the hour in terms of total viewers with 16.9 million viewers – the two hour edition meant the dancing competition also had more total viewers during the 9pm bloc as well. Dancing with the Stars had a 3.1 18-49 rating. Elsewhere at 8pm The Sing Off on NBC had 4.6 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating while Gossip Girl on The CW had 1.3 million viewers overall and a 0.6 rating.
At 9pm CBS comedy Two and a Half Men once again saw its ratings decline though it had the biggest 18-49 rating of the night with 5.6 but in terms of total viewers it had 15.4 million viewers – down on the 15.9 million it had last week. Since its premier, which had a record 32 million viewers, the comedy has lost ratings week-on-week but still has a strong 18-49 rating which is what counts with advertisers. At 9.30 on CBS comedy Mike and Molly had 12.6 million viewers with a 4.4 18-49 rating and The CW drama Hart of Dixie had 1.9 million viewers and 0.8 rating. At 10pm on CBS drama Hawaii Five-0 had 11 million viewers with a 3.3 18-49 rating while ABC’s Castle had 11.1 million viewers but a 2.5 180-40 rating.
