Lisa Rinna to return to Days of our Lives?

Unconfirmed reports claim that actress Lisa Rinna is returning to NBC soap Days of our Lives.

The Huffington Post reports that soap bosses are hoping to bring back Lisa Rinna to the daytime serial to boost its ratings and bring back older viewers – who may have switched off – to the fold. The actress played Billie Reed on Days of our Lives for several stints originally starting in 1993. Rinna last played the role in 2003 though the character has appeared in Salem since then played by Julie Pinson between 2004 and 2008. Previous to that actress Krista Allen played the role between 1996 and 2000 in between Rinna’s various stints on the soap.

Reports claim that Rinna’s return to the soap is being kept under wraps with only actors in the same scenes as her being given the scripts to keep details of the character’s return a secret – a return of which has not been confirmed. The reports claim the actress will return to the Days of our Lives set before the end of the year to begin filming her scenes.

The NBC soap has recently undergone something of a “refresh” to boost ratings with some characters written, fan favourites (such as Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn) brought back and newer characters introduced. The soap has also expanded some of its sets and introduced different storylines to tempt viewers in.
