American Soap Ratings: Days of our Lives loses viewers
The latest round-up of ratings for the last remaining American daytime soaps and Days of our Lives has once again lost viewers making it the lowest rated soap of last week.
As ever CBS soap The Young and the Restless was top last week – as it always is – with an average of 4.4 million viewers but despite being top it was still down on the previous week and this time last week. However, fellow CBS saga The Bold and the Beautiful was up on last year and last week and was still above the 3 million viewers mark. The Los Angeles based soap had 3.1 million viewers across the week.
Over on ABC One Life to Live continued to perform well and be the networks top rated soap despite its cancellation – it was still gaining viewers against last year. The daytime soap had 2.5 million viewers – proving there is still quite a gap between CBS soaps and their rivals. General Hospital continued to be ABC’s lowest rated soap although it wasn’t the lowest rated of the week. The medical soap, based in the fictional Port Charles, had 2.37 million viewers but was had increased its viewers slightly on last week and last year. Finally NBC‘s last daytime serial Days of our Lives was down on both counts and had 2.35 – not much at all between the two bottom soaps both of which face uncertain futures.
