X Factor exits seen by 12 million

The Risk - X FactorThe double elimination of The Risk and Johnny Robinson from the X Factor pulled in 12 million viewers on Sunday night while the second season finale of Downton Abbey had nearly 11 million viewers.

got rid of two acts last night in a double elimination twist with boyband The Risk (pictured right) automatically kicked off when they polled the fewest votes from the public and Johnny Robinson being picked by the judges to leave – see full article on the two exits here >>. The X Factor results show was seen by 12 million viewers, on ITV1, with a peak audience of 13 million towards the end of the programme as viewers tuned in to see who would be leaving the competition. Following the X Factor at 9pm was the second season finale of Downton Abbey which concluded its current run on the broadcaster with a 90 minute special. LuluStrictly Come Dancing on BBC One at 7.30 had 10.7 million viewers tune in, with a peak of 11.2 million, as Lulu became the latest celebrity to leave – see article on her exit here>>. Earlier in the evening rural affairs programme Countryfile continued to pull in big figures with a hefty 7.6 million viewers while at 8pm Antiques Roadshow had 6.5 million viewers. BBC Two’s biggest audience of the night was at 10pm for Match of the Day 2 which had a combined audience of 2.4 million viewers while Will It Snow? at 9pm and had combined audience of 2.2 million viewers.

Channel Four had 1.1 million viewers at 8pm for River Cottage Veg followed by 1.4 million viewers for The Secret Millionaire. Channel Five’s showing of The Man in the Iron Mask had 1.3 million viewers giving the channel its best audience of the night – Big Brother was the next big performer with 1.2 million viewers. Elsewhere last night The Only Way is Essex continued on ITV2 with 1.2 million viewers and an additional 200,000 an hour-later on the time-shift channel. Superhero drama Misfits returned to E4 for a new series with a combined audience of nearly 1 million viewers.
