The Jury loses 2 million viewers

ITV’s new five-part legal drama The Jury, starring Julie Walters, lost two million viewers last night while new game-show High Stakes, fronted by daytime king Jeremy Kyle, continued to under perform.

The Jury launched on ITV1 last night with an impressive 6.2 million viewers but last night the second episode – the drama is stripped across the week on ITV1 – lost 2 million viewers. Overnight figures reveal the legal drama’s audience plunged to 4.2 million viewers and was narrowly beaten by Death in Paradise on BBC One, starring Ben Miller, which had 4.29 million viewers. Prior to The Jury new game-show High Stakes, fronted by Jeremy Kyle, continued to deliver small audiences to ITV with just 2.3 million viewers. However, at 7.30pm The Unforgettable Norman Wisdom pulled in 3.1 million viewers for the broadcaster.

Elsewhere last night MasterChef: The Professionals on BBC Two at 7pm attracted 2.3 million viewers followed by James May’s Man Lab with 2 million viewers. The Food Hospital on Channel Four, at 8pm, had 1.9 million viewers followed by Jamie’s Great Britain with 1.7 million. Documentary My Transsexual Summer pulled in 1.5 million viewers at 10pm. Channel Five’s best audience of the night was for Big Brother at 10pm with 1.4 million though CSI: Miami at 9pm wasn’t far behind with 1.3 million.
