BBC axe Shooting Stars

The BBC has confirmed it is axing the comedy-quiz show Shooting Stars.
The hit BBC Two show which features the comedy partnership of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer won’t be returning next year. The BBC said in a statement: “In future there will be less space on BBC Two for comedy/entertainment panel shows so sadly Shooting Stars won’t be returning”.

The show first began in 1993 and came to an end in 1997. Due to popular demand the show has been resurrected twice. It made a comeback in 2002 and again in 2009. The original series featured Matt Lucas as the scorekeeper, before he become famous with comedy Little Britain.

Former TVAM weathergirl Ulrika Jonsson has been a permanent fixture with the show since the 90s as a team captain.
