X Factor and Strictly exits pull in big ratings

The results shows for Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor pulled in big ratings last night.

Russell Grant became the latest celebrity to be voted of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing last night. Actress Anita Dobson had been tipped by some to be voted off but it was with actress Holly Valance that he ended up in the bottom two with. Grant’s exit from Strictly was seen by an impressive 11 million viewers.

Meanwhile Craig Colton’s exit from the X Factor was seen by 11.8 million viewers – the singing competition bouncing back from Saturday evening’s rating of 10.4 million viewers. However, a recent trend has been for the Sunday evening results show to rate higher than Saturday’s performance show. I’m A Celebrity continued to perform well for ITV1 with 9.5 million viewers at 9pm.

Elsewhere last night Countryfile on BBC One continue to deliver strong ratings with 7.5 million viewers while historical drama Garrow’s Law had 4.5 million viewers. Over on BBC Two the highest audience of the night was for Match of the Day 2 at 10pm which had 2.1 million viewers.

Channel Four’s best audience was for musical film Grease which had 2.2 million viewers Channel 5’s best audience was for Lara Croft Tome Raider: The Cradle of Life with 1.3 million.
