Kimberly McCullough leaving General Hospital
Actress Kimberly McCullough is leaving ABC soap General Hospital it has been announced.
Her character of Robin Scorpio will once again depart Port Charles for pastures new sometime in 2012. A spokesperson for General Hospital has confirmed to Soap Opera Digest that actress Kimberly McCullough has decided to leave the daytime soap. The spokesperson said ‘Expect a poignant and must-watch storyline for Robin and Patrick’.
The actress is quitting the soap to concentrate on directing full-time. The actress joined the cast of General Hospital as Robin in 1985 and remained with the soap until 1996. Her full time return to the ABC soap came in 2005 although she returned for several small stints in the preceding years. McCullough also played the role of Robin in spin-offs Port Charles (for a single episode) and General Hospital: Night Shift as well as fellow ABC soap All My Children.
Her notable prime time roles include The Shield, Joan of Arcadia, Firefly, CSI, ER and Once and Again.
