ABC has denied it has axed struggling 1960s drama Pan Am.
There are widespread reports that ABC has pulled the plug on its struggling airline drama Pan Am but the broadcaster is, at the moment, insisting it hasn’t made any decision over its future. Pan Am stars Christina Ricci and is set in the 1960s and follows the ups and downs of a group of airline hostess’ in the supposed glam-age of airline travel.
ABC had high hopes for the drama but it has struggled to find its feet in the Sunday evening slot. The broadcaster was quick to dispatch Charlie’s Angels after just a handful of episodes but has been more generous to Pan Am in the hope it will take off with viewers. However, reports earlier today surfaced claiming the cast and crew had been informed it was being cancelled. A ABC spokesperson told TVLine ‘Pan Am will wrap production on its first season in early January after completion of its 14th episode. A decision about about a second season will be made in May’
