Jessie J says music bosses found her bisexuality awkward

The singer has said that bosses in the music world found her sexuality initially an uncomfortable topic of discussion.

Jessie J who featured on this years Stonewall Awards shortlisted for Entertainer of the Year told Cosmopolitan Magazine: “They’re [music management] uncomfortable with it. When I was with my girlfriend last year and used to go to studio sessions, I remember going, ‘This is my girlfriend,’ and some people were initially uncomfortable with it.” However she adds that as time progressed the situation eased. “After a while they weren’t [uncomfortable] because I wasn’t.”

Speaking about her sexuality she refutes any suggestion that bisexuality is being used as a publicity tool, “I’ve never used it as a gimmick.” She states, continuing, “I’ve always said I’ve dated guys and I’ve dated girls.” Firmly stressing “If I’m in love, I’m in love. I’m not going to hide it.”

Discussing what she finds attractive, she told the magazine, “I don’t have a type. For me it’s about someone being comfortable in his or her own skin.” However she doesn’t find layabouts a turn on, “I like people with ambition” she said, adding that a grin was also important to her, “good teeth” was a must and also a “sense of humour” and someone “who doesn’t take themselves too seriously.”

Well lets tick list that, good teeth, sense of humour, doesn’t take themselves too seriously and has a bit of ambition. That appears to be Alan Carr …can’t see it happening somehow.

Jessie is to be one of four judges on the new BBC singing talent search, The Voice which launches next year.
