Former team captain of Charades based television game show Give Us A Clue is to take part in a festive special of the guessing game which is to be streamed live on the internet.

Blair is the face of the first live twitter-led homage of the popular family game show in a Christmas special created by digital agency Collective.

Lionel Blair’s Twitter Christmas Charades is the 21st century update on the popular family game and Blair, along with help from everyone playing along on Twitter and a panel, will be appearing live in London, ready to respond to the real-time guesses made via Twitter.” They say.

The event, hosted by Joe Fry, can be seen online at collectivelondon.com on the 8th December. Lionel, pictured right on the original Thames Television production of Give Us A Clue in the 1980s, is to perform his new Charade challenges in 1970s styled set based on the old TV favourite in a London studio.

“Play along with Lionel via the live video stream for the chance to win some signed Lionel merchandise, and be hailed as a charade champion. Add your guess in real-time via Twitter, using hashtag #Lionelscharades.” Collective say.

Give Us A Clue ran on ITV from 1979 to 1992 and had a brief revival in 1997 on the BBC. Earlier this year the series returned for a one-off internet special hosted by Sara Cox which saw Lionel Blair reunited with his old team captain rival, Una Stubbs. The BBC webcast version was for Comic Relief.
