Jason Gardiner and Emma Bunton confirm Dancing on Ice exits
As previously rumoured judges Jason Gardiner and Emma Bunton will not be returning to Dancing on Ice when the new series launches in January. The two took to Twitter today to confirm they would no longer be part of the skating series. Gardiner, who has caused a few upsets as a judge, tweeted ‘I will NOT be returning to DOI next series. It has been an iconic 6 years & I’ve loved being a part of it.’
Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton tweeted ‘Thank you so much for all your lovely messages!I made the hard decision to leave the DOI judging panel to focus on projects in 2012’. Bunton joined the judges panel in 2010 – appearing for two seasons of the ITV celebrity series. Dancing on Ice undergoing something of a revamp for the new series with Christine Bleakley joining Phillip Schofield as a presenter replacing Holly Willoughby who will instead front The Voice UK on BBC One.
Doubtless bosses will hope the revamped Dancing on Ice will prove more of a hit with viewers than the shake-ups of Britain’s Got Talent and the X Factor have proven.
