Rick Perry attacks gays serving in American military
Republican hopeful Rick Perry has released a new campaign advert this week condemning the fact that gays can now serve openly in the American military.

The Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy which effectively barred openly gay personnel from serving within the American military was repealed earlier this year; much to the wrath of Republicans and so-called Christians. Rick Perry, one of quite a few hopefuls for the Republican presidency campaign, has released a new video in which he condemns the fact that gays can serve within the American military. In the video he says there is something wrong with the country when ‘gays can serve in the military’ but children – allegedly – can not ‘celebrate Christmas or pray in school’.
Seemingly Christianity for some, these days, means the total opposite of “love thy neighbour”, “turn the other cheek” and “be a good Samaritan”. You would think he would be proud of people who want to fight and serve their country rather than criticise them for their sexuality.
