Little Mix X Factor victory pulls in 13 million viewers
Little Mix victory last night on the X Factor, becoming the first group to win the ITV series, was seen by nearly 13 million viewers.
The finale of the X Factor saw Marcus Collins and Little Mix compete against each other following the exit of Amelia Lily on Saturday evening. Little Mix were widely seen as the favourites to win the series receiving endorsement from a series of celebrities and former X Factor contestants such as Craig Colton and One Direction.
The group are the first to win X Factor as previous series’ have been won by solo singers such as Shane Ward, Joe McElderry and Alexandra Burke. The final of the X Factor was seen by 12.8 million viewers according to early overnight figures with an additional 200,000, or so, watching via ITV1 +1, giving a combined audience of roughly 13 million viewers.
The Strictly Come Dancing results show was seen by 10.9 million viewers on BBC One. The One Show presenter Alex Jones and Australian actress and singer Holly Valance both exited the series ahead of next week’s finale. That means McFly’s Harry Judd, Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healy and Australian actor Jason Donovan will compete against each other to be crowned the Strictly King/Queen of 2011.
