Once Upon A Time ratings rise

Once Upon A TimeThe return of ABC’s fantasy drama Once Upon A Time on Sunday evening saw ratings jump up while Desperate Housewives also enjoyed a boost in ratings with its return to the broadcaster after the mid-season break.

At 8pm Once Upon A Time returned to ABC for its first original episode since mid-December with 10.3 million viewers and a 3.7 18-49 rating – up a fair bit on its last episode before the break. Animated comedy The Simpsons on Fox had 5.11 million viewers and a 2.3 rating followed by The Cleveland Show with 4.3 million viewers and a 2.1 rating.  The 8pm hour was won by CBS with its NFL overrun and also 60 minutes. Across the hour the broadcaster had 25 million viewers and a 7.9 rating.

At 9pm Desperate Housewives returned to ABC, after it’s own mid-season break, with 8.7 million viewers and a 3.0 18-49 rating as the last season revolving around the residents of Wisteria Lane continued the count-down to its grand finale. Family Guy on Fox was seen by 6 million viewers with a 3.0 rating followed by American Dad with 4.5 million viewers and a 2.1 rating. The premier of NBC’s The Firm was a little lacklustre with 6.7 million viewers and just a 1.5 rating. Over on CBS the late-running The Good Wife had 12.6 million viewers and a 3.0 rating though it shared part of the hour with 60 Minutes because of the NLF over-run; a clear indication of ratings for both shows will emerge in due course.

At 10pm Pan-Am hurtled towards cancellation with just 4 million viewers and a 1.3 18-49 rating – in all honesty the show is all but dead. CBS’s CSI: Miami, which was also delayed by the NFL over-run, had 10.7 million viewers and a 2.7 18-49 rating.
